Well bloggers, wow, it’s been a while. A long while, I know, and am very sorry. Trust me, i’ll try to not go as long with out updating again, it’s just we’ve all been rather busy here, as i’m sure you will soon see, and i haven’t had time to write. Ok, so i have, it’s just, i really haven’t just sat down and written stuff. Would you guys rather short blog entries but several close together, or longer blog stories but farther apart? Mmm, i guess you guys can make your suggestions in the comments, and what ever you choose, i’ll work on.
Anyways, on to the fun stuff. Or what one should be calling something that’s fun. The stuff that’s been going on around here.
Well, as you guys should know i brought my little brother form montana up here with me. He’s now 13, but we brought him up here when he was 12 years old, and it’s been an entire different experience for both me and Sabrina. However, i think that were coping, yes coping, i think that’s a good word for it, i hope.
We also, when we got to ketchikan, ended up with sabrina’s 8 year old nephew, chris. Some of you might remember him from past blog entries and what not, well, yea, we have him now. That one is going well, i like having him here. It’s quite, unique.
I should say here that i like having josh here to. It sorptive came out like i like having chris here, but not josh, and that’s not what i wanted, not at all. I just, well, we’ll get to the whole josh thing soon, but that’s not for right now.
The monday after we got back, i started to work for the Southeast Island School Districtand that has been nice. It’s a bit of extra cash coming in to the family, and it kinda gives me some different things to do. Right now they have me in the VTC (video teleconference), room, and so i sit in there with the to high school students and do what eric my supervisor, gives me to do. He had me go threw the website, and tell him some things he could change to make the school district’s website more accessible for blind users. So, likewise, you can put in your comments some ideas i can pass onto eric, as i can always use different ideas from different people to make the site as user friendly as possible. That’s what were wanting to do isn’t it?
Anyways, i’ve been sitting in the VTC room, working with eric, and now were going to get me into using linux more. I downloaded a linux distro, Vinuxthat is said to work for the blind, right out of the box, to play with. I however, haven’t really had time to mess around with it yet. Vinux comes with some forensic tools that can help recover files from formatted and or corrupt hard drives, that eric was telling me about. I can’t wait to play with them, and see how well i like using them. I love that type of stuff, and find it rather curious to learn this type of stuff.
Some may say why are you working but learning stuff at the same time. Shouldn’t you know the stuff if your doing the job? Well, my thoughts on this is no. I say that because right now i’m getting a chance to work in the field that i want to go into. I am learning how things work in different situation, and how people react to different situations as well. It is a work experiences, and i like it. Yea, sure, i get to learn more about linux, and other operating systems that i haven’t had a chance to really work in. So yes, i think it’s a wonderful experience.
I don’t know how sabrina feels on this all though. We should be going to thorne bay every week, once a week, and i should be working hands on with eric, personally and not over a phone or the VTC machine. However, of course, my being blind causes it to where i can not drive a car. So there for i must find someone to drive me there once a week. However, and i don’t blame her, sabrina gets rather board over there, listening to us techie geeks chat on about stuff that i would guess sounds like gibberish to here. Nothing against sabrina, but talking about boot loaders causes me to sometimes think that i’m talking about gibberish. Anyways, i’m rambling…
I don’t know that she wants to go to thorne bay, and i don’t want to ask her if it’s to much for her. So we need to figure something out there.
I think, this blog entry is going on being longer then what it should be. I think i will pass off here, and go more into kids and such a bit later, and trust me, i won’t take as long to update my blog next time as what i did this time. If i do, remind me, please.

hi all;;
As some of you may know i have been trying to find a client that would work with my new job’s email system. This has been fruitless, as my work uses first-class, a software aimed for the education field. This client is not accessible on the mac nor is it really usable on windows. Well, one day on twitter, i was talking about it with a first-class developer, and with out asking, just went to the itunes store and did a search for first-class. Low and behold they have an iphone application, and so i downloaded it, thinking it wouldn’t work.
Well, i installed it, set it up, and was able to read/reply by my iphone and it worked nicely. This is what i use for all emailing needs in first-class now, and well, if i don’t have to go to the web interface then i won’t. I have not attempted chat functions, though, i would suppose that those as well, are accessible. I will plan a bit more, and let you all know if you would like to know. I just can’t get over the fact that yes, it is accessible. First-class, thanks a lot lets just get the rest accessible, ok? So, if your company uses first-class, and you didn’t want to use the web site anymore, here my friends is now an option. Lets let the developers know that there software is accessible on the iphone, and now just needs to be accessible in leopard and windows.
